Rolling Eyes Do you know of any programs that will run on the MEDION MD40600 PDA with GPS, the PDA runs Windows Mobile 2003 software for pocket pc's and the GPS is NAVTECH on board, can I add points of interest and what is "Tom Tom" etc ? do you add it to the PDA or the GPS side of the programs, the sensor for the GPS is ROYAL TEK RGM-2000,and the PDA has SD 256mb memory cards, bought it just before xmas from Aldi so there should be a few around, can anybody help ? 8)

Um....lots!! Wink As you say, it's running WM2003 (AKA Pocket PC 2003, just been rebranded by MS) which is the latest OS, so there are tons and tons of programs to run on it.

What sort of programs do you want? Applictions, utilities, games? Do you want to pay, or just look at freeware? Or do you just want to look around at what's available? I've had my iPAQ just over a week and I've now got, among other things, SPB Finance which is a banking app, eWallet, WisBar Advance an excellent freeware task manager and Dashboard which is a truely fab skinnable front end. Oh, and Pocket Informant 5 the best, most powerful PIM with it's own active support forum. A work of genius!

Mods, I'm sure you won't mind me posting a couple of links to other forums :D but feel free to edit and I'll PM/email them across instead. This place is great for GPS stuff (what it's designed for!) but not so for general PPC info.

iPAQ HQ - which has lots of useful stuff on general PPC apps etc. It's not just for iPAQs.
Brighthand - a huge resource with very active forums.
PocketPC Thoughts - again, a large. active resource.
Jenneth.info - one Aussie girl's take on PPCs and gadgets. Amusing and well written, as well as useful.

I think that'll do for now! 8O Mr. Green Hopefully it'll be of some use.

Pop back and let us know how you get on!

Iain

PS
Having just previewd, it's not that obvious, but there are lots of links above! Look for the smaller font cos I've linked to all the products/sites I've mentioned.

Laughing Hi Iain, thanks for the links, its mainly the GPS points of interest I need to enter into NAVTECH,do I need another program eg Tom Tom ?,or can you load it directly into the NAVTECH program, don't really use the PDA to its full extent yet so I am just playing at it at the moment so would mainly go for free programs,Stuart. Mr. Green

Can't help with the GPS stuff yet. I will be getting GPS'd up myself, but need to save the pennies first.

It might be worth posting your questions in one of the more general forums rather than way down here. Perhaps the Beginners GPS Lounge or the relevant hardware forum.

If you're running a Medion with Navigon software then you can use POI-Warner for alerting of POI's. Or if you are not happy with Navigon you can purchase TomTom Navigator 2 and have access to all POI's easily.
