I use a network drive to hold files to do with user accounts, such as the "My Documents" folder. When I first installed TomTom Home from the CD it created a folder and file structure in the networked "My Documents" folder for its downloaded files. All worked well and all continued to work through version upgrades until 2.2.0.33. I'm sure I had at least two successful downloads with that version before every download Home made was corrupted. Sometimes I get the occasional game that won't work with files on a network drive, so I moved the network folders and files for TomTom Home to my local C drive. Since then all has worked again. So I'm wondering if anyone else has had problems with this version and networked drives?

I have - the My Documents folder on my PC is redirected via Group Policy to a share on the server - fairly standard practice as then all users on the network have access to their My Documents no matter where they log on, and also the backup on the server backs it all up.

This new version of Home was having a nightmare with it (as an upgrade), but a clean install on a different PC works fine as long as I use a local path.

I tried relocating to a local path but it crashed halfway through on the version I upgraded!

Thanks for confirming I'm not the only one.

I use Linux and Samba to provide the network storage and don't bother with Domains, just manually redirect the file paths in the registry on each machine. It's just a small home network so not many PCs to do or manage.

Just in case we have tried to move the folders to a local drive in different ways, here is what I did in case it helps:

I created a new and empty folder structure on a local drive mirroring what exists in the My Documents folder. Next I went into the Home preferences to change each of the four folders to point to the new local directions.

It's not too much of a problem for me since I only use the TomTom on one PC, but it's annoying to see a drop in functionality between releases.

PD.
