Hello all, this is probably a silly question with a simple answer but here goes. My tomtom 1XL, new at Xmas, will now only switch on when connect to a external power source. Have had it on charge but makes no difference. Any suggestions please. Thanks,Eddie. |

Does it power off immediately external power is removed? How old is it? What charger(s) do you have 12v and 240v or just the car one? _________________ Darren Griffin |

Hi Darren, Thanks for your quick reply. I have now resolved the problem. I simply removed the card and replaced it and hey presto, it switched on. I do only have the car charger, and the PC at the moment but intend to get a mains one . Why I didn't think to try that a week ago I dont know, put it down to age. Cheers, eddie. |

Hello again, Thanks for that link Richard, interesting. I have just tried switching it on again and blow me it's refused again. So, the problem is still there and thinking about it it did start after I downloaded updates from TT home. Looks like I need to do a reset as mentioned in your link. |
