Are you having problems with signal reception or sensitivity? Unless you are then there is nothing to be gained from an external antenna. The advantage of a BT receiver is that you can locate it wherever inside the vehicle gives you the optimum reception. _________________ Darren Griffin - Editor |

Thanx for the quick reply
Sometimes i just loose a signal going down roads that have had no problem before and also there is the odd occasion when tom tom thinks i am still moving when stopped at lights!!

Those are symptoms of poor reception. Where do you place your Fortuna and what car do you use it in? You may be able to improve these issues by relocating the receiver. When you get the problems you describe, make a note of the number of satellites being reported as in view in the bottom right of the display. _________________ Darren Griffin - Editor |

I use it in a Vectra and all around the car normally the back parcell shelf though. Think ill do a couple of test runs with it in the same place.

Which Vectra do you do have ? If it's a Vectra B or C (2000 onwards) you won't have a problem unless you have had a darker UV coated windscreen fitted. If normally you are getting around 7-9 sats then it's probably not the windscreen that's the problem, but the fortuna itself, -or- it's the BT connection dropping.
I have a Vectra C, no problem there whatsoever. |

An 02 plate is a Vectra C so you should be okay.
The dms, dmm and dd is just for displaying co-ordinates in different formats, this won't affect the fix or accuracy in any way. |
