|

Hi,
I was thinking on getting a spare battery for my BT Clip-on. I have read that a standard Nokia phone battery would work in this? If so can anyone tell me what Model of Nokia so that I can buy the correct battery.
Regards
Steve. |

I believe an 82xx battery is the one though I haven't tested myself.

I had a look on the Mobile Fun website and there’s a lot of very similar looking Nokia batteries that all have a different model number.
Does anybody out there know for definite, which Nokia phone battery fits the Fortuna Clip-On BT GPS receiver? If you do could you please let us know the full phone model number and the full battery model number?

Under 'accessories' for the Clip-On, Expansys list the Nokia BLB-2 as the spare battery required.
I haven't tried it - please let us all know when someone does... |

Mind you, the BLB-2 (according to the Mobilefun site) has a capacity of only 750mAH compared to the original Clip-on battery which is 1200mAH I believe.
Could this be an indication that the BLB-2 isn't the one I wonder? My wife has a Nokia 3310, and that battery is the BMC-3 which is slightly too large but it doesn't have a capacity printed on it.
I'll post the details if I manage to find the right one for sure - must be time to go round my mates at work asking to borrow their batteries!

I have a USA Nokia 8290 phone and the battery that came with the phone is a BLB-2.
Clip-On charger is 5 volts
Clip-On battery is Lithium-Ion Polymer, 3.7 volt, 1200 mAh
Nokia 8290 battery is Lithium-Ion, 3.6 volts, 650 mAh
(Notice the Nokia battery is not Polymer, not sure what that means as far as charging with the Clip-On charger)
I put the Nokia 8290 really dead battery (don’t use this phone anymore) in the Clip-ON and charged the battery for 1 hour (no fire or smoke) and then I unplugged the charger and stepped outside. In about 45 seconds clear sky, I got the GPS Green light. So…are there larger capacity Nokia batteries in the same size package?
