So I have a 1GB card with everything backed up on it using windows explorer, I also still have all the folders etc on the internal memory (~500MB), which is the TT using for speedcams maps etc as it stands I think I have duplicates of everything?

Should I just use the internal memory for running the TT and my memory card for MP3s etc? or vise versa or a combo which may get confusing when backing up!

Leave the TomTom internal memory to handle the maps/ apps etc. The card is best suited to adding mp3 files, pictures (if you wan to bother with that) or additional maps for other countries should you travel over seas, having the whole lot on both the internal memory and the SD card serves little purpose - Mike

I shovelled loads of old family pics onto the 2GB card in my TTG720, when we went up country to a family reunion, and people were most impressed with the fact that the unit could show them so well.

They would probably been even more impressed had I had a mains charger as well... Embarassed

Badgerman, just for info... If you have backed up EVERYTHING (including the operating system files) onto that SD card, then at the moment, the TT520 will be booting from (and using) that card.

The Go will look for an operating system on a card first and only if it doesn't find one, will it move on and look on the internal memory.

Is there anyway to change it?.
Like on a pc where you can change your Bios settings.
I suppose some of the techies here could do it, if of course it was possible.

What does it use Andy some sort of embedded boot file?
I suppose in normal use that would be all it ever needed. I know it's different but being able to get into my computer bios and change the boot device has been a saviour on numerous occasions.

Thanks all, I have deleted everything from the card bar the MP3s and kept all the other files on the TT and it seems to have gone mental, with sometimes not reading out directions, some speed cams being alerted audibly and some not, plus I cant see the MP3s and the ipod control has stopped working - will copy everything again and start again Confused

On a separate note, if I update the speed cam database from here do I need to re-add the POI warnings for the variable speed limits I added?
