Multiple Address results

Apologies for the vague subject title.

I recently got a Garmin Nuvi 250. When searching for a certain address using postcode, and then house number I am given 3 results. I don't understand why this is. I found out from trial and error (although I know I could have looked at the map) that they are all different locations within a small house estate.
Am I doing something wrong here?

(I should also add that all three locations aren't near the correct address)

This happens to me occasionally.

You have to remember that the data in the maps and postcode files are not 100% and probably never will be. For example i have a customer who's postcode and house number when entered into my i3 places them 3 streets away from them but shows the correct Postcode for the address it is pointing too. If i use the street name and house number it places them exactly where they are AND shows their correct postcode. (Hope that makes sense)

Another one lives at 4 Something Street, but then i try to navigate to them using Postcode and House Number it offers me 3, 5 and 7 Something Street.....

This is why Sat Nav is a GUIDE and must be used as one. Do not take the mapping to be 100% accurate and correct.

Try entering the street name and house number and see what happens.
