Whilst I can see that posting details of phones that work or don't work against specific TomTom hardware you need to be aware that a Navcore update can make a big difference so don't go buying a phone thats listed in an earlier post unless you know what software the PND was using.
TomTom could quite easily release an update to the Navcore and/ or the phone database that will make lots of problem phones suddenly start to work, at the same time it might cause issues on other phones.
Bluetooth is far from a standard, each manufacturer seems to have their own ideas so trying to get anything like a common approach will be impossible.
If you have a combination that works great, don't upgrade the handset of the PND unless you really need to (such as for a map release) But please add the navcore version you are using to this thread as this makes tracking issues with certain device combinations so much easier - Mike

I@ve updated the HP Ipaq setting to show Navcore version. Thanks for the idea Mike.

So, now we need someone to take all this and produce a spreadsheet. Is someone already doing this? If not, I'll volunteer.

Alan

Feel free but with new Navcore releases every few months (typically in line with new maps every three months) it would need all the hand sets and PND's testing each release and the spreadsheet updating - Not a small task and the frequency of the Navcore updates makes such a list rather outdated as soon as it is produced - Mike

The phone connects and phone book downloads but it doesnt allow any of the other features like data transfer for internet access or text messages to be accessed or created.

I'm not sure if you were just informing us or if you were asking for help!

But that seems to be correct according to TomTom's phone compatibility table entry for the i900 HERE
