But as we’re losing ad-revenue from this then why not make a donation towards website running costs?. Or you could disable your ad-blocker for this site. We think you’ll find our adverts are not overbearing!

I have a review unit that is running the latest software and so far has worked very well.
Hopefully you will thoroughly test it - particularly its ability to get (and keep) a satellite fix under less than perfect conditions, and from a cold start .. a lot of potential purchasers could be making expensive decisions based on your review.

In my opinion the RA 7000 is not a serious competitor. the Active 10 is a single purpose dedicated device that has been designed to be used by gloved hands etc. The RA is a cobbled together solution of a second rate navigation application and Memory-Map.
It is the only pnd competitor using OS maps that is waterproof out of the box, obviously MM are happy to put their name to it, for me it is very easy to create a route from the PC, then I barely have to touch it again as it guides me where I need to go .. the direction arrow being far better than Satmaps 'position marker'
The RA may not have the A10's bells and whistles but what it does, it does well. The fundamental ability of a gps device is that it needs to get (and keep) a satellite fix to function well .. this is where the A10 seems suspect.
Darren, I look forward to your review. _________________ Aprilia Tuono, Zumo 550
