I have mine on 80% and 10% and i like the UK_Alternative colour scheme. I find it works well at the above settings. _________________ NEW Tomtom GO 500 (hope it is good)

I'm on 80% and 0% myself though haven't done much driving with it yet to see how that looks in my car.
'Switch to night view when dark' presumably does exactly that (what Suntime did on my old 500), but what exactly does 'Turn brightness down when dark' do ?
I have both of these ticked at the moment. |

I have both of these ticked at the moment. | Switch to night view will switch between the Day and Night Schemes when it gets dark.
If you have the same Scheme for Day and Night it will do the same as Turn Brightness down when Dark, but it switches rather than fades from max to min.
As an aside Unticking those 2 Options uses less battery power .... according to TT. _________________ Richard

It IS just a text file, but the editor gives you a nice front panel, and a sample map, that changes as you tweak, so you can see the effects of what you're doing.
Sorry I'm late, by the way! | Not late at all, Andy. I sometimes sleep.
I had noted your information and thought I'd give it a try some time (because how to get a blue without seeing it is beyond me - PLEASE do NOT start on about RGB values, that's going too far!). I just thought it was a .clr file and I'm well accustomed to seeing various extensions I can't open, so assumed it was another. _________________ Dennis
