But as we’re losing ad-revenue from this then why not make a donation towards website running costs?. Or you could disable your ad-blocker for this site. We think you’ll find our adverts are not overbearing!

Hi
When I look on my TT One, POI, Shops, all I get is a shop called Partco, does everyone get this?
I have got some of my own shops now downloaded from this site (thanks) but how do I get rid of the partco shop. I can't see an ov2 or its bitmap in my maps!

You can't easily get rid of it.
All the TomTom-supplied POIs are in a single file called poi.dat. You can delete that and have NO built-in POIs and just use your own, but there is no easy way to edit it as it is encrypted.
What you COULD do, is create a small linking file, so your own POIs get added to those in the TomTom-supplied categories.
My instructions here are lost in the depths of time, but are easy to find HERE
This works fine on v7 software, I've no reason to suspect it won't on v8, but it would be nice to have it confirmed.

great, thanks. will do that.
you would have thought they would have sorted it by now tho!

They don't NEED to sort it - their marketing hype said POIs, you've got POIs. So they've supplied yet another super satnav feature. They're getting close to a full set - voice recognition, MapShare, IQ Routing, MP3 player, Bluetooth phone hands free, speed cameras, TMC, EPT. Sorry, I'm beginning to forget all the goodies they've given us, it's so many. _________________ Dennis
