No Sound from my Garmin C510T

I have just bought this sat nav off the internet
I cant get any voice or sound from it.
Can anyone help?

First of all is it new and where did you buy it from?

Can you try turning the volume knob on the right hand side to see if it raises the volume?

sorry for not replying sooner. Yes it is new, bought from amazon.
Yes tried the volume no different.
I have no voice recognition at all.
could a software update cause the problem?

Sorry to be thick.
Dont mean Voice rec I mean I cant get any sound from the sat nav at all.
Cant get any voiced directions.
Truthful answer regarding before update was I dont know.
I did not try it in the car until the next day after the update.

OK.

Does it make ANY beeps or clicks when you press on button on the screen? Make sure the volume is right up....

How did you do the updates? Did you use WebUpdater? Did you just do the Unit Software (Firmware) Updates? Did you add any voices?

Can you try changing the voice? Spanner, Locale, Touch the Voice Language Icon (mouth). Select a US voice and confirm you wish to change it, then repeat and change back to a UK voice.

Do you want to try a reset?

1) Hold your finger at the bottom right corner of the screen and switch on holding your finger there until a question appears.
2) Touch Yes to reset and clear user data.
