Garmin Voices

My partner wants 'Kit ' on my satnav nuvi 250 for times that she borrows it. Nauseated by anything thats been Hof,d and as a chauffeur all i want is the bells and no voice or occasional voice. Nav-voice offers both these but how do i put both new downloads on at same time .

The filename for both new files is English_british_.vpm as is the UK file in the satnav itself. Yeah its simple you just change the file name to the russian or polish and delete the appropriate vpm file and then copy to the voice file..... Wrong... it simply removes the russian or polish voice option ..

I went wrong ... where ??

[code]Is this a TTS speech file or a non-TTS speech file?

For TTS file, you may have to change the part number for the voice to match something valid.

For example, the French Canadian Julie has the following part number:

[part_nmbr]006-D0521-00[/part_nmbr]

note: replace '[]' by "less than" and "greater than" symbols

Make a search in your .VPM for "part_nmbr" and see it you can find it. If not, this is a non-TTS speech file and it is different.

If you find it, try replacing it by the valid part number for your language (search for it in the original language file).
