Are there any Customised POI warning sounds downloads available for the TomTom GO 520

Those available via the PocketGPSWorld GPS Software/Add-ons Menu do not appear to be available for Go 520?

Every TomTom uses the same system, it's just that you'll find a lot of webpages that were written before various new models came out; that's why they aren't mentioned.

HOWEVER, if the page you are talking about is this one:
http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/tomtom-poi-alerts.php, that method HAS been superceded (because the method of making a new "data.chk" file was messy and needed to be completely re-done EVERY time a new software version came out).

There is a much simpler way now (actually two ways if you have a 520)

Method 1:
You can use ANY sound you like in either "wav" format or "ogg" format and put it in a folder called "sounds" on the Go. The new sounds will show up on the normal sound effects page.

Method 2:
You can make any sound in "ogg" format link itself to a POI file if you just give it exactly the same name as the POI's data file (which is an "ov2" file). For example myplaces.ov2 and myplaces.ogg.

Method one has only been available since v7 software, but method 2 has been used for some time now and is used for the PGPSWorld speed camera alerts ("Warning, Gatso ahead, 30 miles per hour" etc.)

If you go to this page:
http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/tomtom-ogg-files.php you will find several sets of voice files I've put together for the cameras and also some near the bottom for other POIs. (Asda, Tescos etc).
The instructions for using Method 2 are also at the bottom of that page, and need to be followed carefully.

That lot should keep you happy! Come back if you have any problems or questions.
