Hi
Thanks for looking in !
Its been a while since i have been around, anyway hope someone can help out on this query please?
Had a Tom Tom One bought for me last year as a Chrimbo gift, and thought it was about time i updated the firmware on it before my 12th Month expired.
I have a Tom Tom with SD Card and have always followed the sticky's and how to's on here as i think the site is terrific with a whole loada knowledge from the people on here!
I have taken advantage of Cameras (in the past more so than now), POI, Setting POI with the correct alerts, my own splash screen, customised voices the list is endless.
To be honest as i changed jobs i tend not to use it as much now but like to know its there on the back burner should i need it and try to keep it up to date.
so the other day i usb'd up to Tom Tom Home and downloaded latest version, so now i have a Tom Tom one with Version 7.162 on it, (is this good ?) i am open to critisism if i have boobied, or any advice now i have made the move.
Ok..... Now i have babbled on too long and wanted to ask a question, since downloading and installing the latest version i have noticed now i have some extra characters for additional voices BUT When you select them (4 in total) they are not highlighted or semi highlighted ?
So i can't select them, i am happy with what i already have, so just want to delete the "half highlighted voices off my Tom Tom.
I also get a message when i am on one of the 4 voices not highlighted saying "Install from CD or download from www.tomtom.com" i have gone into my "voice" folder and can see all of my customised voices have three files, the only others are the ones that are free downloads you can get free from Tom Tom, so i backed up the voice folder first and then took all of these out and dropped the folder back in with only the cutomised ones?
When i rebooted the Tom Tom the 4 semi highlighted were still there? when i did this all i see is 3 x files for my voices i have loaded into the folder myself -
IE - 1 X VIF, 1X CHK, & 1 X DATA or picture which is numbered the same as the other two files for recognition.
I suppose what i am asking is am i looking in the wrong place to delete these 4 semi highlighted voices? and i can only assume i installed the four semi highlighted voices when i installed the latest version and if so, how can i get rid of them?
Can anyone give me some plus's and Minus's on this version please and if any more info is required from the Tom Tom please ask and i can provide it.

Just ignore the voices that are greyed out, they are appearing in the list as they are coded into the new application you have installed, but your device doesn't have the required files on it to make them available for selection, if you want them download them from TomToms web site, if you are not bothered simply ignore them.
The main thing to watch out for is when configuring ogg files using this version 7 software for warning of POI files, when the device asks you "is this the correct sound" you should answer YES even though it doesn't play anything, if you answer NO the device will lock up and require the reset ket to be pressed to recover the situation (this bug affects all devices running vs7 software) - Mike - Mike

Hey Mike,
Thanks for taking the time and trouble to get back mate, much appreciated, suppose there will be other things discovered as time go's on that people will come across with this update.
Many thanks again
