Home V2 problems!

For no apparent reason I cannot get Home V2 to log on or download any updates. The current error message is: Required parameters generic client version missing.
I have re-installed Home but still no joy.
BYW I am connected to the net . Read elsewhwere that Home has an issue with BT router but not sure if that is true.
Any suggestins on how to get Home working?

Ok problem solved, another new install solved the problem!
