Hi everybody.
I'm new here can anybody help me please ?
I've just got back from London and noticed 2 new strange looking cameras on the A40 Westway 'near the turning for old oak, common.
They are taller than the normal speed cameras and about a third of the size 'does anybody know what they are? Someone suggested to me that they are test cameras. Has anybody else seen them or know what they are ?
Thanks Simon. |

Hi fozzy303,
to the forum!
Are they Monitron cameras, if they aren't, do they match any in our spotter's guide to cameras?

A mate of mine reckons there's a good chance that I got the flash but I won't get the fine which doesn't really make sense(especially to my missus) what are the chances of that happening?

Monitrons are digital so they don't run out of film. The pictures go directly to processing so, if one flashed you, you'll more than likely get the fine and points. _________________ Tim |

Hi fozzy303,
Sorry, have been away from the PC for a few minutes.

If it is a Monitron, then because it’s digital the chances are that you will get done I’m afraid.
Sounds like it was one of the following cameras that are in our database:
MONITRON:18893@40
MONITRON:14518@40
REDLIGHT:8966@40
Do you have a SatNav system with a current version of our camera database?

Hi all
I have actually seen these cameras they seem to be monitrons but also there is a loop in the road at the traffic lights and the cameras are actually sited like redlight cams so I would assume that they do both.

MaFt | I spoke to the Metropolitan police fixed penalty department and they told me I had been a very lucky boy. Also told me if I didn't receive the fine within 14 days then I would not get a fine. |

Yes very lucky!
May I suggest that if you haven't already, then:
1. Buy a SatNav unit that can take our PocketGPSWorld camera database.
2. Subscribe to PocketGPSWorld and use the camera database.
