Tomtom One V4 wont switch on using battery

I hadn't bothered updating the application software since I bought it some time ago. Anyway last night I decided to update to version 7.162, which looks a bit nicer but now prevents me from switching it on unless plugged into a power supply (either PC or 12v car adapter).

Just wondered if anyone else has had similar problems or knew of any solutions.

(oh by the way, dip stick here didnt make a back up before the update).

Have you tried a Reset?

litterally have just done that after finding a thread with a similar problem. think its okay now.
