|

Hi there,
I used to use a tomtom One v2 a while back for a brief period, I believe that was running v6.5.
I then a few months back purchased an HP Ipaq RX5720 with tomtom (v6.115 or thereabouts I believe). Unfortunately that broke within a month so went straight back.
I now purchased yesterday the Myguide 3100, and have just managed to get tomtom 6.020 running ok on it.
However I noticed one thing.
On the other tomtoms I've used, by typing in the full postal code it would choose street name, however on this version it only allows 4 postcodes to be put in to gain the town, then asks to type the street in in comparison a lot slower and less convenient to find places.
Do you know if that is the limit to this version os v6.020 or if I am missing a setting somewhere.
The myguide 3100 runs Windows CE 5. Any idea if there is a more recent version that can run on the CE or did they stop after that version to support only WM5 etc?
many thanks,
Tuck |

Is there a folder named zip in the root of the memory card, if so is there anything in it? - Mike |

erm nope, the only folders in the root of the SD card are
CurrentMap.dat
DATA.CHK
navigator.cfg
TomTom.exe
ttnavigator.bif
I'm guessing there must be one needed one step forward, 2 back

aha thank you very much,
you made me think to look in the old backup folder of my Ipaq and there sure enough was the zip folder of postal codes. All fine now.
Do these postal code lists get updated when you purchase updated maps, or they available anywhere?
Secondly, is there any major differences between this 6.020 and whatever newer builds are available for wince?
thanks again,
Tuck |

The latest version for Pocket PC (which is what you are using) is 6,030 but it will not offer much in way of an improvement neither would it add any extra functionality so I would leave it alone if I were you.
I thought the postcode data was updated with a new map, but recent posts suggest this is not the case - Mike |
