I didn't try to buy it twice. If you read the first post in this thread you'll see I got the wrong map at first then called TomTom and they sorted it out. I found a little patience helped fix things for me. _________________ TomTom One 1st Edition

They have. To be fair, they have just sent an email informing me that one will be refunded.
I have just finished downloading the new 710 map and was amazed to find the PocketGPS cameras already in there!
Just adding the voice warnings.................then ready to demo!
Bated breath. |

So far, so good. The nearest camera to me is 3 miles to a 30mph gatso and the warning worked fine. Trying further afield demo now.
There was one set of cameras that asked me to choose a sound? PMobiles? Are they no longer used/been replaced?
.........................hmmmm, obviously not as I am getting a bugle warning for these PMobile cams. Why is there no voice for them? Gatsos & Specs voice warnings are there.
Also, sorry to be a pain but my favourites have disappeared, how do I transfer them from the old map to the new one. Which file is it please? |

The pMobiles are an extra set of files of UN-VERIFIED reports.
Depending on when the ogg file sets were made, the pMobiles either didn't exist, or the people who made the voice files didn't use them so didn't make alerts for them.
However, I did make one set, and am making another as we speak..
Notes from the
ogg files collection page:
Quote: | Notes:
Recently, an additional ‘p’ (for provisional) mobile site category has been added to the download package. If you select the speed-zoned download this will give you an additional seven 'p' files and just one for the consolidated download. This is an optional category that contains un-verified mobile sites.
If you decide to install them you will have to decide how you want to be alerted to them. If you want to use the same warning as for the “normal” mobile sites you will need to make copies of the relevant mobile warnings and rename the copies with a “p” before the word “mobile” each time. However this will mean that you have no way of telling whether the site is confirmed or not.
As an alternative for those of you that wish to use this optional category you might like to try the below files for the ‘p’mobiles instead. They match the Crystal voice above (Created by ‘Andy_P’):
Text to Speech “Crystal” PMobile Version...... |
Favourites are stored in the MapSettings.cfg file. Copy that from the old map folder to the new one.
See the TomTom FAQs topic in the "stickies" for more details on that and other useful things you must have missed! |
