beginner with tom tom 3

i need some help with tom tom 3
i am having trouble finding addreses they dont seem to be in the list but when i drive down that street it comes up on the screen and tells me what it is called.for example

westfield rd sutton surrey sm1 2lb
so i type city: sutton or sm1 2
street: wesfield rd but it does not find it

now when i drive down this road it lists it


another example i cant find the town of wallington in surrey on the list even though there is a train station there


what am i doing wrong?

TomTom has a different way of naming the street. Silly as it may sound you have to follow TomTom's way of writing, you will even need to change your contacts if you ever want to navigate to them.

I've yet to get my hands on a copy of TomTom Navigator 3, but such problems were often present in Navigator 2. It's really a TeleAtlas problem - they're not often that consistent about putting roads in places, and tend to deal more in administrative areas (which is not something you often know) than towns.
