There's a rumour that Drivesmart have ceased trading. If I remember correctly, a friend told me that he was no longer getting updates from Drivesmart, although we have compatible updates available by subscription. _________________ Tim |

Tim, Paula already has one.
I think it's clear that either DS or one of their retailers is dumping stock. It's also even more likely that the supposed new DS Support Web-site is indeed DS, claims of free updates etc are rubbish as we know, yes they may be free but tow on 10 months is hardly what the customer expects!
I wouldn't now touch one with a very long barge pole given events of the past year. The company has sadly used up all the goodwill it may have once had. _________________ Darren Griffin - Editor |

DS might be dumping stock, but if anyone can pick up one of these new for £25 i say go for it.
As we all know the DS support is the worst i have ever seen and i don't know how they haven't ended up on a TV complaint programme.
The actual DS speed camera unit is superb, maybe not stylish, it looks like a taxi meter, but i treat that as a bonus with all those thieving scumbags around it doesn't look grand enough for them.
The DS "free" database - forget it, it is mostly useless as nowhere near up todate, as they say you get what you pay for.
With the PGPSW database installed the machine works fantastic and gives you Directional warnings, Spec camera speeds calculated to ensure you don't leave too early and spoken voices you can change and much more.
For that small amount of money you have a machine better than others priced in £hundreds, i'm off to buy another one and i will get my support from this site.
PS.
To get it working it must have the DS Private loader software, Darren if you haven't seen my message on another thread please PM me. _________________ TomTom Go 60

I agree with you Guy....
Even if my unit's data is way out of date, it is excellent.
So I am going to perservere with it and if my DS is faulty, then I may well get one on Ebay.
Nite
