I've got a 970T European edition. I now know how to set up my own POIs (camera database). Some questions:-

How does one delete a complete category rather than each entry within the file?

How does one update it without going through the original process

Having moved from Tom Tom Navigator v6 on a PDA, I must say that this seems a bit of a problem. The documentation (full manual) could also be more helpful.

ANSWER!

Click the arrow on the window showing the detail! That shows the change/delete bit.

deleted my reply. was in the wrong forum, apologies. In answer to your updating query: There is no easy way of doing it really, and you've pretty much got to go through the whole process again.
