As far as I know, any add-on programs will be listed on a new last menu page UNLESS they also use a custom menu file to put them somewhere else (eg POI Capture).
Having a custom menu will obviously mess up any new menu items that TomTom add, but just having ANYTHING in the sdk folder MIGHT mess up these new menu items, and as they no longer check compatibility with sdk-based programs, there are no hard and fast rules.

Thanks, Andy - some useful information here. However, it would still be very useful if someone could describe for me the standard menu structure without any added SDK programs. That way I will be able to work out what the differences are between my set-up and the standard, and then decide which I prefer (and delete the SDK programs if I wish).

This is what a tomtom.mnu can look like. If you need a specific menu item, just ask and we'll try to find it for you.

MapShare, and Help Me, don't have an entry you can use.

Code:
MENUBLOCK|BLOCK_MAIN|BTM_GPS_POSITION|
MENUPAGE|TASK_PAGE1|Main Menu 1 of 4|
MENUITEM|TASK_NAVIGATE_TO|
MENUITEM|TASK_MENU_FIND_ALTERNATIVES|
MENUITEM|TASK_SDK1|
MENUITEM|TASK_ADD_FAVORITE|
MENUITEM|TASK_MENU_PREFERENCES|
MENUITEM|TASK_PAGE2|
MENUPAGE|TASK_PAGE2|Main Menu 2 of 4|
MENUITEM|TASK_MENU_PLAN_ATOB|
MENUITEM|TASK_SHOW_MAP|
MENUITEM|TASK_DELETE_ROUTE|
MENUITEM|TASK_MENU_ROUTE_INSTRUCTIONS|
MENUITEM|TASK_ITINERARY|
MENUITEM|TASK_PAGE3|
MENUPAGE|TASK_PAGE3|Main Menu 3 of 4|
MENUITEM|TASK_SHOW_WEATHER|
MENUITEM|TASK_MENU_DOWNLOAD|
MENUITEM|TASK_TUTORIAL|
MENUITEM|TASK_SHOW_GPS_STATUS|
MENUITEM|TASK_ADD_FAVORITE|
MENUITEM|TASK_PAGE4|
MENUPAGE|TASK_PAGE4|Main Menu 4 of 4|
MENUITEM|TASK_MENU_TRAFFIC|
MENUITEM|TASK_MENU_PHONE|
MENUITEM|TASK_PAGE1|

If you do a Search for 'Menuitem' you will find several ideas on creating your own File.

Jus installed suntime onto my TTG 500 via Home 1.5 and found it worked first time. Very handy for us night time van drivers. Same as my Navman F30. And it can be stopped at anytime.

Is there anyway to hide the icon? Once set I do not see why I would want to get at the options.

On my TomTom One V1, I went into the sdkregistry folder, created another folder inside it, called suntime-temp and moved the files suntime.bmp and suntime.cap from the sdkregistry folder into it. Rebooted the TomTom, Suntime starts OK but the Suntime menu button is not shown..

I tried out both Daylight and Suntime. Suntime is nice where it will check at interval to change from day to night. Problem is when you switch it on it will not switch till the interval time is up. SO if you have it for 60 sec it will wait that time before it switches. I would want it to check ASAP when you turn it on.

With Daylight it does check ASAP when you turn it on but only the once. SO on a long trip you will have to switch it when it gets dark.

To get Suntime running using only the config file and also to get the Help Me menu back do the following.

1. Install Suntime as normal
2. Use Windows Explorer to browse the contents of your Tomtom
3. Open the SDKRegistry folder in the root of the Tomtom directory and delete the 2 files in there.
4. Open the Suntime folder and create a new text file in there and rename it to config.txt
5. Open the config.txt file and copy and paste the following into it then save it

[Begin parameters]
language english.lng
period 60
gmtoffset 0
twilight yes
verbose normal
[End parameters]

NOTE: change gmtoffset to the appropriate value if you are not in the UK and also change twilight to no if you want Suntime to switch at exact sunrise and sunset times

6. In the root directory of your Tomtom create a new text file and rename it to cleanup.txt.
7. Open the cleanup.txt file and paste the following into it and save it (this will start Suntime at start-up and in conjunction with the config file above will mean you no longer need the menu facility)

daemon|suntime/suntime|

8. To test it, start Tomtom and change the colour scheme and see if Suntime switches it correctly.

Guys, follow the above which I posted a while back and you can run Suntime AND get the Help Me icon back.

I've finally been able to answer my own question earlier in this topic.

The differences between my menu structure and the standard one are that on my menu, HelpMe had disappeared (I already knew that bit), traffic had moved from Page 3 to Page 1 to replace the HelpMe icon, and in turn been replaced on Page 3 by Guided Tours.

Now I understand what the differences are, I'm happy to keep the version I've got - I'm very unlikely to use HelpMe anyway and there are no other significant differences.

I could follow Dooderooni's suggestion, but I also use the Quickam SDK app, as well as Suntime. This one does need an icon to run, so I'm happy to lose HelpMe in order to gain access to Quickam.

I would prefer Quickam on Page 1 of the menu, but I don't think that option is possible (or desirable) until we understand how to incorporate MapShare into a TomTom.mnu file.
