|
|
As suggested in the FAQs, I am trying to do a backup before anything else. Doing it from TomTom HOME, I get an error with the first file it tries to backup autorun.inf and the backup stops. When I try copying via Explorer, I manage to copy everything except autorun.inf which is says is in use. I know what autorun.inf is for but I cannot see that it is running nor can I see anything relevant in Processes in Task Manager.
Any ideas, please? |

Don't use HOME to back-up your device. Try disconnecting it, shutting down HOME completely (perhaps even a reboot) and starting again. Make the back-up directly from Explorer without restarting HOME.
Alternatively, if you still have problems, perhaps you can make a manual copy of this particular file. For information, mine (from a GO300) contains the following lines:
[autorun]
icon=tomtom.ico
action=TomTom GO
label=TomTom GO |

My 910 has this in autorun.inf
[autorun]
action=Run TomTom HOME
open=InstallTomTomHOME.exe
label=TomTom
icon=tomtom.ico
[DeviceInstall]
#This section is empty; autorun will not install device drivers to your PC.
[Edited to add]
I should say that my Day 1 Backup does, but I haven't got it on the Device because I don't want HOME starting up every time I connect to the PC. _________________ Richard

you can stop home running on start up by running msconfig and unchecking it from the start up tab |
