new version 7 software for X950

i have an X950 will i be able to upgrade to the new version 7 software when it comes out for free i purchased it in september 2007, i have still to send my receipt away and form that was in the box for a map upgrade for £7.00 , but what i want to know is will i get a free upgrade to version 7 software as well i am a bit confused about this ,can anyone help or give some helpful advice, cheers
