Looking at father in laws tom tom one updated model and he has ordered the tomtom £ 19 years to the speed camera database updates but no matter what I do it will always alert me to the camera locations but not make any sounds. I have enabled the additional options under change preferences looked in manage poi's and none are listed and also looked at tomtom plus and safety cameras and made a sound but still nothing happens.
This is driving me nuts and the support on the tomtom site is not good.
Any help really appreciated.

Welcome to the forum, If you are using the TomTom Speed Camera Database there is very little in way of customisation that can be carried out, all you will get is a simple audio ping (non selectable).
To use true spoken alerts like you have probably read about on this site requires the installation of the PocketGPSWorld speed camera database which does then allow full customisation - Mike |

No ping only a viewable icon on the screen no noise given. Any other suggestions ?

Are you using TomTom's safety Camera database or ours?

Ahh... maybe this is dependent on the model of TT? My TT720 allows me to reassign the alert sound on the built-in camera database... I like to set it to the Star Trek redAlert klaxon...  |
