TT720 disable auto zoom

I noticed on a colleagues TT720 that there was a new option on the TT720 to disable autozoom. Does this actually do what it says on the tin? If I zoom out to see say 8km ahead, will the display stay zoomed out while I'm navigating to my destination? Or does it just zoom back in so I can only see a few hundred metres in front?

Also does the TT720 have a scale on the navigation display?

It stays on what zoom you have selected. There is no idication of what scale is selected though
