Hi all again, My 510 has been working perfectly even in London with the External antenna for about 11months now. 510 is fitted low down in the cab. But just recently it wouldn't pick up any signals unless on the dash.(I even bought a new antenna but that wouldn't work) I tried the old broken mount with no suction pad on it, plugged in the antenna, laid it on the floor of the cab and it works perfectly even in the city of London with all the big buildings. Do the "antenna in" sockets break down at all?. If the mount is at fault would it be under warrentry as TT only replaced it last October.
Many thanks peeps Curleydel

Turn the unit upside down and take a close look at the electrical connection strip, one of the contacts is a coax type, does this appear damaged in any way, make sure the center pin isn't squashed. Also look at the corresponding half on the mount and ensure this isn't damaged, next check the aerial connection where you plug the external feed into the mount, you could dismantle the old mount (I assume it droops) but the connections work - remove the PCB and use it to replace the one in the good mount with the defective GPS contact.

To open the mount remove the two screws either side of the contact strip, prize out the rubber bung in the middle of the upper surface and remove the securing screw (Torx bit size 8) next remove the PCB assembly using a torx bit size 6 - two screws release the PCB - Mike
