Hi.

Sorry to bother you, but I was wondering can you tell me how I restore Kate & Simon the computer voices on my TTG 720 as they've disappeared! Shocked

I've only had the thing a few hours and they've disappeared, I've found them on the CD but I don't know how or where to put them to reinstate them.

Your help & advice would be greatly appreciated.

Warren

Sorry to nag, but now do you see why everybody bangs on endlessly about doing that vital "day one" backup? You'd be back up and running straight away. See instructions for making a FULL backup in the "TomTom FAQs" in the "sticky" topics at the top of the index.

I had exactly the same problem, but ONLY after I'd messed around copying a preferences file from an older model.

First try a reset
Next try "return to factory settings" - You'll lose anything you might have added.
Next, open up your TomTom internal memory in Windows Explorer (shut down TomTom Home if it insists on opening)
Check for a folder called LoquendoTTS. The voices are in there, but looking at mine it's not simple.
Maybe this is one time where it *might* be easier in "Home".

Home v1.6 is also on the CD that came with it and is probably the easiest version to use (because I know it a bit better) so if it asks if you want to update to Home v2 say no just for now.

The centre pane of Home (v1.6) has three tabs, one of which is "TomTom CD" - select that and you should be able to load the voices back (sorry, I don't have a copy of Home in front of me so can't be more precise till I get home (if you see what I mean)..

Well I've been scratching around trying all sorts of combinations and got hopelessly confused and lost! Shocked

So I used the factory reset option and hey presto everything is back to normality! Smile

Thanks for your time! Smile
