|
|
Hi guys
http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/modules.php?name=POIs&Download
I tried to upload some POIs to my i3 and it's now failing to boot. I only saw the warning about the 85 POIs limit after I did it - I think I tried to upload around 115. Now I can't even connect the POI uploader to the i3 to try and delete some.
What can I do?
Thanks |

I've tried the hard reset which was suggested elsewhere on the forum (holding the scroll button and the other two buttons down at the same time) but that hasn't done anything. |

Does yours have a card in the side? If so you need to take the card out and put it into a PC using a card reader. The delete the file poi.gpi in the POI Folder. BE CAREFUL.
Then put the card back. |

Thanks Paul
Yes, it has a card in the side. I'll see if I can find a card adapter tomorrow at work and I'll let you know how I get on
You say I need to be careful, I presume this is to make sure I don't delete anything else? |

Yes, but also try not to touch the gold contacts too.
Once you have the adapter you can backup the entire card to your PC. Copying the contents to another card won't work but it will give you a backup should the card corrupt.... |

That seems to have worked! I've purchased a 2GB card with an adaptor for £12 something on eBay and I've used the adaptor to access the card from the sat nav. I've deleted the file as you said and it's now starting ok!
I'll try and reinstall the custom points tonight (making sure it's less than 85 of them) and hopefully that'll work fine.
Thanks for your help, it's really appreciated |
