Avaible for download through Home.
- Mapshare works with 675.14xx maps
- Custom cursors not an option...
- Tripmaster works with rider2 config.

Dont know if it can be done on other One versions,
but TT Home will tell you...?

very odd scheme on this.

I've been using an "interesting" version of this for a while.

The 7.00 versions that work on the x10 range are very very poor on the XL, but the 7.10 version have been relatively bug free - however, they are missing a lot of the navCore7 features.

just plugged my ONE into my PC to check for a new quick gps fix file and hey presto, it wanted me to download a new version of the application.

Did a full backup and copied the stuff onto another SD card (just in case) and I'm now running version 7.120 complete with mapshare.

now to figure it all out??

if i make an alteration to the map, it doesn't seem to make any difference to my map?? ie deleted a roundabout that was taken out about 12 months ago and it' still on my map although HOME says that my alterations have been uploaded??

The more complex corrections are only sent to TomTom, for them to then add to the next map release.

that's a bit of a bummer - i thought i would be able to correct MY map on the fly so to speak??

from what you're saying it could be another 12 months before my alterations make into a map release?? seems a bit stupid to me?

You may need to pay for the map update as well as the mapshare is only available for one year.

OKay thing I really like:
The superb navigational instructions
The estimate of the arrival time
The big clear display
The clear audible instructions
The ability to block roads that cannot be driven down, just like on the old days of the TTN5
The audio books playing through the FM transmitter
The improved handsfree

Wink

Cheers

Very puzzling. I did the same thing with my TomTom One v2 and it also asked me to update my software. I downloaded it but when I went to instal it I got a message saying the application already existed on my device. I continued, but after the installation I still had 6.560

Robin2,

Weird !!

I didn't expect there to even be a version of navcore 7 made available for my device, all I was looking for was an updated gpsfix file.

I've corrected the spelling on one street on my estate that was wrong and it now shows the correct spelling on my map. Other, more significant changes have not and as mentioned in earlier posts, may be incorporated into later maps.

PaulBT,

How do I know if I'm getting ANY map correctons??

I know it's early days, but I've just plugged it in again for the first time today and it wanted to upload a correction to a speed limit that was raised from 40mph to 50mph when a new dual carraigway was built. With regards to other mapshare updates, it just said:

"mapshare - map updates _____________________________ none"

Is there anything that I can check to confirm that I am actually getting some sort of update from the mapshare utility??

I'm guessing that there MUST be something that was not on the original 675.1409 map that has been ammended via mapshare that I can look for and check that it's working ??

Regards

Geoff

i'm guessing that you have a version 2 tt one, i only say this as i looked on the website and it is not available for that version of tomtom yet,
http://www.tomtom.com/page.php?Page=Mapshare

i also noted at another site that the mapshare reduces the poi's that you have put on as it stores them as they are stored as ov2 files, it was reported that the camera database was systmatically being removed one by one as new mapshare files were created, a rather good reason not to use it in my opinion, and certainly not to connect to tt home Shocked

having read the tomtom link in gardenshed's post, the ONE v2 is not listed either??

I certainly have got version 7.120 and it "appears" that the mapshare function is available. What I can't test is if it is actually doing anything??

There are no extra .ov2 files in the map folder and the only "strange" looking files are:

MapUserPatch.dat
DeletedPoi.local

Ummmm..... I have no idea.

I have just deleted a long list for how to check one of te corrections that I made, because when I went to map corrections and turned off to use my own corrections "my" blocked road went back. It also did not appear when I select to display corrections from a few.

Cheers
Paul

'Twas me that posted about Mapshare reducing the space for user POIs.
Latest thoughts is that it is the built-in POI updates rather than map corrections that are creating these new files.
The number you get will depend on how many boxes you've got ticked in the Home menu - Preferences/Mapshare Preferences/Select POI Categories.

When it downloads the corrections it calls them something like "Map Corrections 1/1" and "POI corrections x/56". It only seems to download the map correction once as required, but attempts the POI corrections every time.
