|

Hi all, i hope someone can answer a few questions for me.
Not long ago i decided to buy Western Europe maps for my TTN5 as i was under the impression (from TOMTOM.com) that TTN6 was not compatible with my Ipaq HX4700.
I have recently found out that is isn't the case (http://forum.ipaqchoice.com/shwmessage.aspx?ForumID=5&MessageID=165) and i'm a bit miffed.
If i had bought the TTN6 version of Western Europe, am i right in thinking that TTN would have upgraded? (from 5 to 6)
I'm fed up of only having 39 POI's available (need at least 50) and i don't seem to be getting any updates since i bought the map.
Is there a CHEAP way of uprading to TTN6 without buying a full package, or do i have to bite the bullet and fork out due to TT's incompitence of their own products?
Any help or advice is very welcome.

The 4700 is NOT on the supported list - so TomTom would not offer the upgrade to V6. It more than likely works OK - but TomTom have decided that it is not worth their while testing and supporting that combination.
The only way to get TT6 would be to buy a kit as a 'new' user and install it. But you still wouldnt get support. _________________ Phil |

Thanks for your reply Phil, i will leave TT6 for now then as i don't want to fork out for the whole lot.
As for support, we are still talking about TomTom aren't we? I never realised they called that service support
So is there a way of tackling my biggest gripe with TT5......... lack of POI's?
By the time i've put my speed camera update on there i'm unable to use my own POI's. With a 2gb SD card and 2gb CF card plugged in it would be nice if i could store them and use them.
Any info on this would be great.
Cheers

Sorted it now.
No more useless tomtom poi's taking up space, and all my own POI's are visible and work perfectly.
