Hi again,
Sorry to bother you again, i'll get it right this time.
Done the maps onto computer but dont know how to get them onto pda now, any help gratefully recieved.
Just one more thing after this, where does the software go for the gps, does it go on the pda, computer, or memory card.
Thanks for all the help, i'll be as knowledgeable as you soon

Ah, I kind of assumed you had got past the software stage when you mentioned you were trying to install maps! The TTNav installation should go to Main Memory (the Axims internal memory) and you need to do this ebfore we move onto copying teh map folder across.
Having installed the application (hopefully!) the maps should now be in a folder somewhere on your PC called 'Great_Britain Navigator Map'. Using Explorer, locate your Axim called 'Mobile Device' and find the storage card folder. You can then copy the entire 'Great_Britain' folder to the storage card. _________________ Darren Griffin |

the storage folder allready had a folder in it called great britain
and there was nothing in it, so deleated it and copied the one with the 8 icons to it,(to no avail). It came up with this message:
Cannot copy great Britain, access denied. Make sure mobile device has sufficient memory and that the file is not read only and that you have permission to copy the file type.
Thanks again

Sorry to interrupt the flow of your walk through but I thought you might like to know that TomTom have been having problems with their recent CDs of France. There is a thread about it in the TomTom section (I think) of the forum. TomTom say that all will be well soon.
I convinced myself that the cost of the Sat. Nav. kit was justified because, like you, I plan to use it abroad for holidays. However, I must say that apart from some teething problems, at first, it's the best "Big Boys Toy" I have ever had. Even she that will be obeyed is willing to wait while I ask it to find a route to the supermarket |

Hi,
It wouldn't be too bad if it was the french one but it's not it's the british version i'm having trouble with.
I will probably find it's my fault in the end as i am hopeless at things like this as you will have guessed if you having been reading the thread.
I have asked tom tom if i could download a copy off them but have had no reply as yet, also have asked the company i got the kit off if they could provide another copy, suppose i'll have to wait and see tomorrow.
I cant wait to get it working so i can take the misses shopping too.
Regards Tony |

If you get it working watch out if you take her to Tesco in Prescot. There are 1 or 2 roundabouts that it wants to send you round the wrong way. |

Toytown, do you have a storage card i.e. a postage stamp sized memory card installed in the Axim? _________________ Darren Griffin |

Hi again,
yes we have a storage card, thats where we were trying to put the file yesterday, but it would not copy it. It would only copy 2 of the 8 folders that were in there.
Hi wizzo,
I'll have to go and see where it sends us it should be a laugh, if we ever get it to work.
Do you live near in prescot.
Thanks again Tony |

Something odd going on here then because the map is 96MB and should fit easily. Are you sure you are copying to the storage card on the Axim vua File Manager and not a folder in Main Memory. What make is the SD card? _________________ Darren Griffin |
