Hi, whilst trying to make room on the memory of my Tom Tom One V1 i accidently wiped the voice file. I have downloaded the standard ones from Tom Tom website but still can't get it to work. Not sure if i'm installing them correctly on the unit. Sad Confused

Welcome to the forum, When you download the voice from the TomTom site it needs to be unzipped, this will produce two files for example the Jane voice is:

data05.chk and data05.vif

Both of these files need to be placed in to the folder named "voices" which you will find on the TomTom One's SD card.

When you have done the above please back up your device to the PC just in case anything else goes wrong with it, for instructions on backing up the device see #1 of the FAQ Page - if you had a back up it would have been easy to copy the files you need from it back to the unit - Mike

Yes just create a folder on the SD card named voices and put the files in it, the folder needs to go in the root directory of the card, this is the highest level you can see on the card.
If you use Windows Explorer when you first click the removable drive letter containing the SD card, the root directory is displayed - Mike
