Hi, I am very interested in purchasing a GPS Device to be used as a part of my job as a courier. I was wondering if there is a device of which I could input let's say, 6 to 10 addresses, and then it could give me the route best to take in a efficient order from my starting point. Or am I asking too much here, like we ain't there yet. I did see the new pocket garmin unit, the iQue.

Thanks.

Not sure if the iQUE can do route optimization. But I know that ALK Copilot 4 Pocket PC Live and PowerLoc Destinator can do that. First you enter your destinations and then you ask the application to optimize the route - directly on the PocketPC. I think that's pretty cool...

Both Garmin and Street Pilot's can do route optimisation, there are options to edit via's, and also stop navigation.

can you not do this but using via's? ie plan from the nearest to furthest and then use the via function in between for the stop off points?

Please tell me if I am talking rubbish as I have just got my CF GPS card and am using it on my 2210 with TomTom Nav 1 (hope to upgrade to TT 2 soon)

Smile

Of course you can do this by using Vias (just not in TomTom 1 or 2) but then you are missing the opportunity for route optimization. Probably not important if you have two vias, but i f it is a dozen then the machine may be able to find a smarter route for you.
