GPS Recommendations?

I am in need of a GPS for multiple uses such as traveling by car, hiking, etc. and would like to get 1 device for all my uses. Hopefully the users here will have a few recommendations. I am based in the US so something that has the US map loaded would be a plus.

I appreciate all your comments and thank you in advance.

Must Haves
Portable, so it has to have an internal battery that will last at least 2 hours
Can be used in a car or on foot.
Must be updatable by computer as in able to upload new, updated maps
Multiple point route creations as in having a start point, POI1, POI2, stopping point.
Be able to add POI’s by Coordinates as well as street address.

Would Be Nice
Create routes on a computer using travel planning software like Microsoft Street and Trips and be able to upload it to the GPS.

A PDA or smart phone with intergrated GPS. Use Memory Map for topographical software and TomTom, Destinator etc for the street routing based software. Alternative is a Garmin CX60, which is better for out of the car use, but not as good in the car.

All of these (and any other options) are comprimises, so you will need to know what is most important to you.
