Are any other 720 owners having problems with the handsfree quality? Very disappointing as this was one of my main reasons for spending the extra cash on this model rather than the TT One XL.

This a known fault.

Get it replaced .

I was trying out bluetooth connection from my 720 to a Nokia 6230i. I can hear people speaking to me via bluetooth, but they can't hear me.

Sounds like you have the handsfree microphone fault.

You can test this by calling your own mobile and divert to voicemail and leave a test message.

Most people have loud buzzing instead of microphone audio.

It's a common fault, and you will have to return the 720 for replacement.

It's disappointing to read so many people having this same fault, not only posts from this forum. Comet are nothing but trouble if you need to return something which is faulty so all going well they'll approve the refund/exchange and I'll purchase elsewhere. My fear is that I'll end up with another faulty 720 as the failure rate does appear to be worryingly high.

P.S. I phoned TT and they claimed to have never heard of the problem!

Oops. will try tonight. Sounds like a return is required.

Comet have approved the return of my 720 and I think I'll swap it for a One XL instead. Other than the handsfree and voice input the 720 did not offer a great deal more to warrant the additional £130, especially when the handsfree is not very effective.
