No idea without the DVD. Where did those files come from?? Probably better to ask Garmin.

Also do you have an unlock code?

An MDF and MDS are created by making an image of somthink like a DVD CD ect so my guess would be you need to burn them to a DVD using (Alcohol 120%) (Clone CD) somthing that can write image files.

To upload files to a garmin, I only have experience with the Garmin Nuvi 200W you need a USB cable. You can get them off the net

So now all you need to do is buy a unlock code from garmin. The DVD with the maps is useless without one.

About £50 but the V10 maps will be out around the end of this year / beginning of next so it might be worth waiting.

Did you find out what maps you have already? Goto Settings, Map, MapSource. What does it say?

All map updates are pretty expensive. It takes a lot of collate and prepare the data.
