|
|
I purchased a Myguide 3100 last week, so far I'm well pleased with it. The map software is stored on the built in memory, i.e. not on an sd card. I want to add the camera database to the unit and understand that the igo 2006 download will work correctly.
Now, would I add this to a sd card and simply plug it into the unit, or will I need to link the unit to my PC via USB and then transfer the data onto the built in memory?. If this is the case then can anybody let me know where exactly I should transfer the files to.
I don't have a USB cable yet so I don't know how the file system on the internal memory is arranged.
I'd be grateful if anybody can assist.
Cheers. |

Have you read the instalation guide on the download page, look for your sat nav on the coloured chart, it says,
Installing Pocket GPS Safety Camera Database
Connect unit to PC (may require installation of Active Sync)
Use 'Explore' to browse the unit
Go to: \Flash Disk\MyGuide\POI\SPEEDCAM
Copy the extracted .txt files to this folder
You may need to 'soft reset' the unit
Just noticed this, same question,

I have a 4200 and found that soft reset does not mean switching on and off by the way on main switch.
On my model there is a recessed on/off slider switch; switching that activated d/loaded d/base.
Before it hadn't.
Mine came with a USB cable and you unzip the files as instructed (to desktop) on this site, ignore the txt files related to release + licence, plus the image files. bmp.
Then copy across to speedcam folder in flash file as instructed.

I don't have an SD card, but noted a hotfix posted on MyGuide's website for the sort I got from Lidl, Silver Crest 4200, which states d/load must be extracted to SD card and then inserted and unit rebooted.
Fortunately this worked on an MMC media card which I have. _________________ Gel

Once again many thanks, worked a treat.
p.s. if you don't have a myguide usb cable (like me) but have a Canon camera (white usb cable) then the Canon cable works perfectly.
