God I'm so dissapointed, and after all this wait too. As many might already have seen my message regarding missing towns, I've decided that I'm going to post them here too. Why not?

Chingford and Pinner does not exist in the database but is on the map. Middlesex is also not recognised by the database, yes you'd better believe it.

I have downloaded all the addresses for all the practical driving test centres in London (my younger brother is currently taking his test and is going all over the place). I have found out that the iCN now gets about 65% of these addresses wrong :x , it points to the right spot on the map if postcode search is used, but the wrong town is displayed.

With the Navtech maps, no problemo 100% of the time.

I'm still waiting to hear from Navman as I also have a problem with the auto-simulation feature. And I get the feeling that this is one e-mail, they will try to avoid.

Has anybody else tried running the unit on auto-simulation?

Auto-simulation works fine for me, I haven't hit a problem yet with it.

Bulwell in Nottingham comes up as Bilborough. Eg Bulwell High Road and Bulwell Station is listed as being in Bilborough

I have also found the same with Romford, however, by using the London boroughs, (Romford = Havering, Chingford = Waltham Forest) it does 'seem' to work. Waltham Forest does have two listing one for Essex and one for Greater London. 8O

Searching for roads and places does take some getting used to, as they don't seem to be listed in what we would expect to be logical. :D

I have a 635 Navman and am having problems with any address search for a location, it can't seem to find anywhere.
When I try to put in a road or street name in any location it generally tells me there are no matching names.
It doesn't seem to recognise town names like Bolton for example.
At the moment I am driving to the area I need to be in then driving round till the street or road name appears on the screen then self navigating to it.
The on screen map clearly identifies the road names yet the search function just won't find them.
HELP Confused !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes it can be a bit confusing. My 635 tells me I live in Chestfield, not Whitstable on the address search but finds Whitstable on the town search and odd things like that.

I own a 635 and have a rather quirky little problem relating to house numbers.

The system recognises the post code, has no trouble finding the road, and seems to pic up the majority of house numbers.

However, the house i live in is in a line of house between a roundabout and a t-junction. Imediately after the roundabout, SOME houses are present on the map, however about 100 yards following 40, including my own, are not. The numbers just simply arent there. There are house numbers just before, and house numbers a distance afterwards. Puytting the number in manually just returns no results.

When driving down the road without a route inputted, the location reading in the bottom centre of the screen counts the housenumbers till it gets to this blindspot, then just changes to <roadname> and nothing else.

Was also a little dissapointed with the POI database. Never used satnav before so perhaps my expectations were too high. But it would really value to ability to say "find nearest patrol station" which i cant seem to get it to do, just have to look round the map manually. Also the actual database seems somewhat sparse, theres a petrol station a mile or so from my house, a texaco garage, which isnt on there. Indeed i tried to find petrol stations in the trafford area of manchester to no avail. Either my input wrong or they arent there, the first being bad news because data is no good if its burried under layers of bad user interface, the second is self explanatory.

Hi! I purchased a Navman iCN635 a few days ago.

On the whole very happy! But my father lives in Yeading, Middlesex, and I can't find Hayes or Yeading in the database!

I am not sure whether to live with it, or to take it back to Dixons, and then get Tom Tomo maps for use with my Tungsten T3!

Check you have service pack 1 for your iCN635 installed.
Go to Navman downloads and follow the prompts.
