Hello

Sorry if this has been asked before.

I have downloaded my GENUINE cd to SD card and upgraded my tomtom one with the full Western Europe.

My friend now wants to swap my tomtom for his when he goes on holiday, but he treats his stuff like crap so I am reluctant to lend it to him.

Can I just let him have my SD card for his unit, and I can use the original UK one that came with my unit while he is away.

Would there be any issues on either unit or the SD card?

Politely tell him to buy his own Map, a single country will only cost him £32, until 31st July. Smile

Thanks for these replies, but it does not answer the question, and besides he will be visiting multiple countries, and because he is a friend I want to lend it to him.

No it is not possible to change SD card as your map will not be activated on his SatNav, so you will have to lead him the hole unit

P.S. Halford are doing the WE maps 6.50 for £9.99

That is quite old. This would be quite noticiable e.g. in France where some major autoroutes have been completed in the last year.

You'd have to contact TT support to get it switched.
They don't allow you to have one map authorized to two units at the same time.
Why not try your card in your mate's GO and see what happens?

He has a One the same as me. So long as there is no possibility of damage occuring to either unit or the card being locked out or somthing like that, I think that it is worth a try. If it don't work he'll have to buy his own cos he aint getting my unit !

Just make sure you have a full back up of the card on the PC, just in case something goes wrong

The DVD comes dated 2006, and is the maps that were originally on the 510 and 710 when they were first released last year, as such they are notparticularly old. The number of places where the maps are significantly out is very tiny, the DVD is a good buy.

Apparently, there are various versions of this DVD at various Halfords branches. Unfortunately, this being TomTom, there's no way of telling what version it is until you open the box and install it.
Looks like you were lucky to get such a new version....
