Hi all, my first post here so Im not sure if this is the correct forum or not.

Anyway, I want to use Fugawi PDA or similar software on a car navigator if this is possible. The software is for Windows Mobile 2003 or 2005.

Is there a way to quit the built in navigation app on a TomTom or Navigon or any other brand and then access the system? I read somewhere that many car navigators use windows mobile under the hood.

The reason for wanting to do this is to use the navigator as a marine plotter. I know I could buy a pda with built in gps and use TomTom mobile navigator but the handhelds in my price range dont offer decent displays for outdoor use as in a boat.

Can anyone help me?

In fact I thought that most all-in-one PNDs (Nuvis / TomToms) didn't use Windows at all - more likely a mini-UNIX like or proprietary o/s.

And not many of them are element proof sufficient for boats. Having just come back from my annual sailing week (Atlantic off West coast of Scotland) it would have to be very element proof :D
