Yes it will but you need to get a non-HC type.
150x Transcend or Topram have been reported to work. I have the latter. |

Not sure. They may be just a rebadger. Seem to sell a lot through their US ebay shop. Cost me 24 quid inc delivered to UK.
The Transcend one can be found this side of the pond for similar price. |

Thx for that, just been looking on the web and I can see transcend sd cards which are also saying they are SDHC and will only work in an sd slot that is HC compatable? What is the HC and is the tomtom go710 compatable.

SDHC = Secure Digital High Capacity ... read all about it here :
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Secure_Digital_card#SDHC
and here :
http://www.sdcard.org/sdhc/index.html
The main differences, from various sources, can be summarised as :
Quote: | SD 1.0/1.1 uses traditional "Byte Addressing" scheme which limits the maximum capacity to 4GB while SD 2.0 adopts "Sector Addressing" scheme [snip...]. SDHC cards can only work with SDHC compatible host devices. |
AFAIK NO Tomtom devices are HC compatible - although its possible the new *20 devices may be.
My advice .. do NOT try a HC card in a TT
