|
|
I wanted to add a hotel into a TT910, that I knew I would only use a few times over one weekend, so when parked (in the carpark) I simply added the GPS position as a favourite, rather than selecting a POI catagory for it.
The trouble came when cold wet and tired, we wanted to get back to the hotel, and TT said "no route found" 8O
Lots of mucking around then ensued.
The outcome of which was if I had set the location as a POI TT would have found a route to the nearest point on a road, but as a favourite with no road there it said there was no route available.
Is this normal
Cheers

When setting a favourite, it's best to do it close to the road at the entrance to the parking lot. Going away from the road just confusing the TT.
However, I didn't realize that it worked differently if it was set as a POI rather than a Favourite. |

Paul, have a read of This Thread from last year which I think is the same problem, for some strange reason storing off road locations is possible and you can navigate to them, but you have to enter them from the browse map options for the location to be used for subsequent navigation - Mike |

Trying it again here, in the office
I did the following tests:
1. From main menu pg2
add favourite
GPS position
2. From main menu pg1
Change Prefs
prefs pg2
Manage POIs
add poi
(choose a catagory)
In "add as POI pg2" GPS position. :D
3. From main menu pg2
add favourite
Browse Map
select blue arrow ( top right hand corner)
Done. :D :D :D
So solution 2 gives you a POI while solution 3 gives you a favourite.
How strange
Cheers

I did say the method of entry to get this to work is strange, not sure why there is such inconsistent behaviour but at least you now know how to overcome the issue - Mike |

From Browse Map you can do both. Add as Favourite or Add as POI. _________________ Richard
