They will download as a "zip" archive (a compressed file). If you have Windows XP just right click on the zip file and select "Extract all".
It should then un-zip to one or more pairs of files which it will store on your PC in the same place as it stored the original zipfile.
For example: PetrolStations.ov2 and PetrolStations.bmp and PostOffices.ov2 and PostOffices.bmp. You should be able to browse and find these files using Windows Explorer
(If you can't see the .ov2 and .bmp part of the names, you need to make some adjustments to Windows Explorer to make them visible (Tools Menu/ Folder Options / View tab. UN-tick "Hide extensions for known file types")
When you've found them, connect up your PDA to the PC however you normally do, and simply copy the .ov2 and .bmp files into your map folder on the PDA (It will be called "Great_Britain-Map" or "Western Europe" or "UK and IE plus major roads of WE" depending on what maps you have.
Disconnect safely when finished, fire up TomTom, go to the preferences menu and select the "Enable/disable POIs" option. You should then be able to switch them on or off individually.
If you want to be alerted to them when you get near, you can do that in the Change Preferences/Manage POIs/Warn when Near POI" menu.
Have a go, and shout if you have any questions. |

If you want to be aware of them when traveling, it is much better to do this -

Thanks, Richard. I forgot this can be an issue on PDAs. |
