To cut down on the number of POI's that I have, I am thinking of omitting all the 20mph warnings...Gatso's, Mobile and Specs. Without digging into the folder, I can't believe there are that many anyway, or are there ??
And are there other speed warnings that could be 'fine tuned' ?

You could ommit the 20mph warnings but if there aren't that many of them then is it really worth it? As for fine tuning, there is a lot that can be done!

Some people never speed in 30 MPH areas so they could remove those POIs. Others don't care about red light cameras so they could be removed. Likewise, you may have eagle eyes and not need to worry about fixed cameras, only potential mobile locations so maybe deleting the fixed cameras would be a good idea. Furthermore, some people never stray over the speed limit except on motorways (accidentally of course) so they could remove all the other speeds too.

Really, it's a personal thing and every driver will have different preferences - no one can tell you what will work best for you.

It does save you 3 POI categories if you are using speed zoned - which may help on some PNDs

Thanks...I haven't tried it, but if I just download the Consolidated file as apposed to Zones, what do I get as I approach a camera ? ,.. does it show the speed or just a camera ?

Just camera by type.

Hi

To try and keep numbers down on my TTN5 I have merged all the same speed types together so I get 20, 30, 40 etc files and then also merged all same types together to get Gatso, Mobile etc. I then have warnings set for each with the speed ones saying the speed and the type ones saying the type you then get a "flashing" icon in the corner that switches between speed and type.

So that I can do this easily each month I set up a cab file that runs a simple copy and rename task to do all this for me.

Just my solution to reduce the numbers as POI's are fairly restricted on TTN5

Care to elaborate on just how to do this? It sounds seriously useful...
