TomTom910 plays music thru car speakers but not phone calls

I was told by Tom Tom that the 910 was designed this way. But, I believe it would be great if I could wire my car amp into the audio out of the 910 and play music (of course) but also when I make a call the sound comes out the car speakers. I was told by tomtom this is not possible. This is crazy! are there any SW hacks out there that would route phone call audio from the build in speaker to the audio output?

Strangely enough it's the second time that's been asked today. Here's my answer on another forum

I'm sure I read somewhere that TomTom had crippled this "hack" in the latest software version, but the last post says it works upto v6.525
