I have been using my Competition Prize since it arrived direct from Navman in August 2007. At first all was fine, including the TMC. But after updating last months cameras, the unit has failed big time. It won't accept Post Codes, and now crashes after 10 seconds from switch on. One of my wise sons has tried it out with the same results, resulting in a 30 minute loss in Brighton yesterday. Anyone else suffer from this F30/20 crash. Help required please.

I cannot give you a definitve answer, Stuart, but have you tried the usual fixes? ie Try a hard reset: press the reset button on the bottom of the device and leave it a couple of minutes, then restart. (It may reset/re-start on its own). If it is like my N20, the reset button switches it off then you have to press again to restart. On restart, the device starts and reloads the software and is known to sort a lot of device sickness.
Alternatively, try taking out the memory card - wait - and then re-insert it.

If these don't work get on to Navman tech support either by email or phone. Check your manual for contact details. Wink

Gee-Pee. Thanks for you response. Yes, I have done all the usual re-sets. Pin in the small hole and a full reset from the preferences. I have contacted Navman and got a reply today to ring them direct, which I shall do. All the memory is internal, so no SD card used.

Ok, didn't know that but did have a look at the F30 Manual. Hope your conversation with Navman helps....Ihave always found them to be quite helpful on the phone or by email or indeed when I have visited them...I don't think that is encouraged though.
Let the Forum know how you get on! Wink

Try this :-

Hold down the big middle button and then turn it on. you will be (hopefully) presented with the 'hidden' menus.

You can do some further hard resets and system tests.

Might be worth a go.

Do you have enough time before the crash to check if shop demo or route demonstration are activated? If you do, first make sure that they are both turned off.

It could be that speed cam data you downloaded got corrupted in the process. Can you update again?
