I had a PogoAlert in my car for 10 minutes last week after waiting 6 weeks for delivery. It was impressive bar a slight moulding problem on the main display window that should have been better.

However:

There's a major flaw. Put on a pair of polarized sunglasses (as one should when driving in spring/summer) and the display vanishes. The manufacturer has polarized the display so that it can't be seen with polarized shades on!!! None of my other (many) lcd devices have this problem and the PogoAlert was straight back in the post for a refund.

What a pity that Origin have made such a basic error.

The devices certainly look great, does the Pogo Drive have a docking mount i.e. power connects to mount not unit?

That's correct. The power supply connects to the power bracket which mounts on the windscreen or dash mount as required. The laser detector also mounts on the windscreen (sucker) mount and plugs into the power bracket. The PogoAlert unit then clips onto the power bracket and can be angled. Were it not for the polarization issue then it would be spot on.

Sorry, does that apply to the Pogo Drive as well (the powered mount)?

The connector plugs straight into the 'Drive' unit and not into the mount.

The Alert certainly has the more suitable power method, a continuation of the method used with the Origin B2.
